Barnard College

CHEM BC 1003x Chemical Problem Solving

BC1003 is designed to present fundamental concepts of chemistry and to help students develop strong chemical problem solving skills. The course will approach chemistry from both molecular and macroscopic perspectives. It is particularly appropriate for first-year students with weak backgrounds in chemistry and/or mathematical problem-solving (e.g., SAT Math ≤ 600) who have an interest in continuing into the CHEM BC2001 General Chemistry course, presumably leading to further scientific study at the College. CHEM BC1003y emphasizes problem-solving skills, along with specially-selected fundamental chemical topics. The course does not count toward the laboratory science general education requirement. Permission of Instructor. - D. Merrer
Prerequisites: Permission of Instructor.
