The main topics to be discussed are: changes in the employment relationships, trends in labor force participation, the dynamics of occupations and industries, unemployment and underemployment, human capital and formal education, wage determination and earnings inequality, information and social networks in the labor markets, segmented labor markets, labor unions, labor market discrimination, ethnic and gender inequalities, and immigrants in the labor market. At the end of the course students are expected to be familiar with the main debates and developments in the field of sociology of labor markets.
